Customer service shouldn’t be trick or treat

Crypt Keeper Running Your Call Centers?

Halloween is one of the scariest times of the year.

That is… unless we’re talking about your online sales or customer service operations, dying to satisfy digital consumers. Then, the frights are year-round.

Here a few hair-raising stats to keep you up at night:

  • Shopify reports: “A two-second delay in your page’s load time could increase abandoned cart rates 20%”—giving shoppers another reason to buy elsewhere online.
  • In its “downright scary” facts about Amazon, Moneyinc.com, states: “Their sales account for 43% of all online sales.” And there are market niches, yours today—if not tomorrow—still left to conquer.
  • And here’s one more Amazon stat to give you goosebumps: “They sell everything”—“and it seems like they can even sell dirt if they had to.” That’s only fitting since Amazon is burying the competition.

And oh, one more thing: The Walking Dead is scouting your business for its next episode. Just kidding.

Question is: Do you want to compete? Or capitulate?

Don’t let the crypt keeper run your call center operations into the ground. Or have your sales and service walled up behind bricks and mortar, like in Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado.” Not a good way to go.

Stay alive this Halloween and year-round, with great online sales and service. Be fluid and flexible.

Because if you settle for less, you’ll be haunted by apparitions of what could have been in 2018.
