Dallas – During the September 7th Stand Up To Cancer™ (SU2C) 2018 telecast, Working Solutions agents and employees handled about 5,800 calls over four and a half hours to raise money for a cure. According to the charity, “the fundraiser received more than $123 million in pledges from the U.S. and Canada.”

Angie Kronlage, director of Program Success at Working Solutions, said a team of agents, several hundred strong, contributed to the success of this year’s telethon—”supporting chat, taking calls, sharing tears and wishing we were close enough to share a beer and a hug.”

Afterward, agents showed their commitment and enthusiasm on the company’s Vyne website:

Donna wrote: “Such an amazing experience tonight. Sometimes the calls were bittersweet as they talked about the loved ones they lost—some tears were shed. Overall it was absolutely rewarding.”

Dawn stated: “I had one man who felt bad that he could only donate $5.00. I almost cried right then and there; a lot of big hearts calling in!”

And Jean, who’s survived the disease, expressed thanks: “I heard some tearful stories, but what I came away with was the overwhelming spirit of generosity and kindness. To all involved as a cancer survivor myself, thank you from the bottom of my heart for being part of this event and allowing me the honor to take part.”

Stand Up To Cancer, an Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) program, was started a decade ago by women affected by the disease. Before this event, SU2C’s sixth telethon, the organization reported raising $480+ million.

Its website states that more than 1,500 scientists collaborate at 180+ institutions worldwide, all united in purpose: “One goal: to turn all cancer patients into long-term survivors.”
