Working Solutions chief executive Kim Houlne and her company, a leader in contact center outsourcing, are featured on KRLD’s CEO Spotlight.
Houlne, who founded the business more than 20 years ago, talked with NewsRadio’s business analyst David Johnson about the early days in Omaha, Nebraska, before moving to Plano, Texas in 1998.
Back then, the idea was novel of operating a virtual call center, with agents working from home. Now, it’s an accepted industry practice that Houlne and her woman-owned company pioneered.
Another distinction is her homeshore business model. As many companies outsourced customer service to call centers offshore, Houlne stayed true to American workers, using U.S. contact center agents.
And when those same companies brought their business back to the U.S., Houlne said: “We never left.”
